Description
FOSTER CARE: Provides temporary out of home placement  for children in either foster homes or group homes when it is clearly determined that there parents or legal guardians are unable or unwilling to provide safe and appropriate care for them. Placements are court-ordered or through voluntary parent agreement, depending on the nature of the case. Supportive services are provided to children, foster parents and parents. Returning home is the primary focus of DSS.

FOSTER HOME LICENSING: Provides licenses to families that 24-hour care for non-related children. Once approved, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card and a clothing allowance for the support of the foster child.
