Description
CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES: Investigates allegations of physical or sexual abuse, mental injury, and neglect of children and adolescents. Legal mandates require children in neglect cases to be seen within 5 days and in abuse cases within 24 hours. Emergency services may include placement in shelter care, court involvement, or counseling with the family to rectify the situation.
