 Description
OVERVIEW: Provides information and assistance going through the foster care and adoption process.
 
SERVICES: 
1) FOSTER CARE: Provides temporary placement for a child and/or children when it is clearly determined that the child(ren) can no longer remain in their own homes. Placements are monitored. Returning home is the primary focus of DSS.

2) FOSTER HOME LICENSING: Requires licenses for those families providing 24-hour care for non-related children under the supervision of DSS. Once approved, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card on behalf of the child and a clothing allowance for the support of the foster child.
