Description
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance with screening and applying for Medical Assistance/Medicaid/MA. Assists with paying the medical bills of needy and low-income individuals. Also assists individuals with questions/concerns regarding the Medicare Beneficiary programs.
-Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program: Serves individuals with modest assets (up to $9,090 per individual or $13,630 per couple) with combined incomes that do not go over 100 percent of the federal poverty level. Pays for their Medicare Part B premiums and cost-sharing amounts. If you have questions/concerns, please call Medicare at 800-633-4227.
-Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB): Pays only the Part B premium for those with incomes between 100 and 120 percent of the federal poverty level with assets up to $9,090 per individual or $13,630 per couple. If you have any questions/concerns, please call Medicare at 800-633-4227.
-Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program: Provides full health benefits for children under the age of 19 with employed parents whose employer does not offer family health insurance, and pregnant women of any age who meet the income guidelines (under 200% of the federal poverty level, or up to 300% of the federal poverty level with a premium). Care is provided through Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
