Description
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE: Provides assistance with screening and applying for Medicaid for those who do not qualify under Maryland Health Connections. Medicaid provides health coverage for some low-income individuals, families, older adults and people with disabilities. Also assists individuals with questions/concerns regarding the Medicare Beneficiary programs.

-Qualified Disabled and Working Individuals: Offers assistance to individuals 65 and older, or working, disabled individuals 65 and under who are blind, physically or developmentally disabled. Requires documentation of disability.

-Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program (QMB): Offers assistance to individuals who are on Medicare. Helps pay for Part A and Part B premiums, co-payments, and deductibles.

-Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary: Offers assistance to individuals who are Medicare recipients but who are ineligible for the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program. Pays only Part B premiums for those whose incomes are between 100 and 120% of the poverty level.

-Long Term Care Medical Assistance: Provides assistance with covering the cost of nursing home care for low income individuals who meet eligibility requirements, including looking back on resources in the five years prior to application. Applications can be filed online or mailed.
