Description
Connecticut chapter of national Alzheimer's Association supports and assists people with Alzheimer's and all other forms of dementia, their caregivers, family members and people concerned about brain health. Services include free education classes, support groups (for those living with the disease, spouses, adult children, and more) care consultations, information and referrals and engaging activities for those in the early stages of dementia. Advocacy efforts are provided on both the state and local level to affect change. Volunteers and community members can help by raising money through events including Walk to End Alzheimer's in the fall, Do What You Love to End Alz any time of the year, and a gala in the spring. Funds raised help fund critical research in order to get closer to new treatments and a cure. 24 hr/7 day a week multilingual phone service provides information, emotional support for callers and referrals to support groups, advocates and other community service programs available for people, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
