University Health Center includes the schools of medicine and dental medicine, John Dempsey Hospital, UConn Medical Group, UConn Health Partners, and University Dentists. Services include a range of inpatient medical and surgical specialties such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Family Birthing Center, cardiac care, outpatient SurgiCenter, and more. Outpatient services offered through UConn Medical Group and UConn Health Partners include primary care, pediatrics, geriatrics, travel medicine, dermatology, mental health services, women's health services, the UConn Cancer Center, Sports Medicine, and orthopaedics. Community programs at the UConn Health Center include the Connecticut Poison Control Center, MotherToBaby CT, and Healthnet, a medical information service for consumers and local librarians coordinated by the Health Center's medical library. Regional federally funded centers located at UConn Health Center include the Multipurpose Arthritis Center, the Alcohol Research Center, UCONN Center on Aging, and the Regional Medical Library. The Health Center also offers opportunities to participate in treatment trials, which offer free treatment as part of a study.
