Description
Child and Family Guidance Center provides mental health and substance abuse counseling for children and families, emergency and non-emergency psychiatric treatment for children and youth, diagnostic evaluations for children and their families, parenting education programs, and child abuse prevention programs. Programs include Outpatient Mental Health Program, Turning Point Regional Adolescent Substance Abuse Program, Special Family Enrichment Services, parent aide services, Nurturing Families Network of Services, Parenting Academy, Reconnecting Family Services, Strategic Intervention for High Risk Youth (SIHRY), Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) program, Functional Family Therapy (FTT), Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Services for Children, Foster Grandparent Mentoring Program, Hispanic Family Outreach Service, Intensive Family Preservation, Care Coordination Services for seriously, and emotionally disturbed children. Also offers the Child Development Community Policing Program which responds to requests from the Bridgeport Police Department regarding children and youth who are in need of counseling services.
