People who currently have a HUD Tenant Based Section 8 Voucher (also known as a Housing Choice Voucher) may be able to use their voucher to purchase their first home. Homeownership vouchers are intended to assist first-time homeowners with their monthly homeownership expenses, including mortgage payments.

Eligibility: First-time homeowner or cooperative member or a family that has not owned or had ownership interest in the past three years; Must meet minimum income requirements (call for information); Must be employed full time for at least one year unless elderly or disabled; Must complete the housing authority's pre-assistance homeownership and housing counseling program; Call for information about additional requirements set by the housing authority
