Safeguards the public health and promotes the public welfare by protecting persons from product injury and fraud arising from intrastate commerce in bedding, furniture and toys. Ensuring that bedding and furniture are made in accordance with good practices in the in materials used and that rental/second hand furniture and bedding has been properly sanitized and treated for such pests as bed bugs. Ensuring that toys sold in Connecticut meet standards so as to prevent exposure to toxic materials and to prevent choking and other hazards in design and manufacture.
