Connecticut Collaborative to Improve Autism Services is a statewide collaborative effort sponsored by the Department of Public Health’s (DPH) Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) Program and the University of Connecticut Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The proposed benefit of this collaborative is to enhance Connecticut’s existing infrastructure supporting children and youth with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and other developmental disabilities (DDs) by providing information and resources via a webpage which provides links to many resources that focuses on improving the system of services for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), and other Developmental Disabilities.(DDs).

Goals of the collaborative include: 1) Enhance awareness of the early signs of ASDs; improve knowledge about screening, diagnostic assessments and interventions; 2) Engage family support and training organizations to provide information and education about Autism Spectrum Disorders; 3) Identify and expand primary care practices providing family-centered, comprehensive coordinated health care and related services including early Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) screening, linkage to timely diagnosis, and transition to evidence-based interventions.
