Description

Diabetes Education programs provided throughout the state consist of a self-management screenings and workshops. Sessions (some online) will touch on tips and tools to help manage an individual's condition or prevention techniques for those with a family history or with borderline conditions. Program goals include educating participants on what proper foods to eat, foot care issues, low and high blood sugar readings, and tips for dealing with stressful situations, to name a few. Other prevention type programs for those with pre-diabetes or at risk of getting can also attend their local hospital or YWCA program.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Connecticut residents; Ages 18+; Individuals with diabetes and those at high-risk as with a familial history or evidence of borderline conditions; family caregivers of people with diabetes can also attend with the participant
Application Process: Call for information on location of workshops and programs throughout the state, dates, times and to register
Program Fees: Fee varies
