Program: Women with Children Substance Abuse Outreach

Agency: WELLMORE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Resource Number: 17340696
Description
DMHAS Northwest regional women's services consultant works with providers to identify women with treatment needs who are appropriate for obtaining services at the level of care provided by DMHAS funded Women and Children's Specialty Program. Clients are linked with appropriate level of care for the period that they are on the waiting list at the Women and Children's Specialty Program. Supportive services while they are waiting for placement, such as transportation, linkage to child care, assistance obtaining medical clearance, are provided to eliminate possible barriers to treatment. (Women and Children's Specialty Programs are programs in Connecticut that take pregnant women and women with their young children into an intensive day treatment program or a residential substance abuse treatment program.)
