Description
Offers basic needs loan program to meet the needs of County's indigent residents who are not eligible for other aid programs.  GA must be paid back.  Types of assistance offered are:  rent paid to the property owner or designed payee, personal needs voucher to help with personal needs to buy hygiene, household and food items.  Travel assistance available if willing but need help to return to former residence.  Max assistance $367.

Maximum single housing assistance $320.  Maximum shared housing $210.

Client's responsibilities:
Turn in monthly job searches verification and income report.

Eligibility: Individuals meeting all the eligibility requirements:
*Must be a citizen of the US or legal resident and reside in San Joaquin County
*Aged 18 years or older
*Have no minor children
*Monthly net income less than $367
*$600 Resource limit (value of home or a mobile cannot exceed $20,000)
Languages: English and Spanish. Additional languages are provided via a translation service.
Application Process: Call or walk-in for assistance. Application appointments are available on a first come first serve basis
Program Fees: No fees
Documents Required: Photo ID, driver’s license, or birth certificate, social security card or document with the number on it, parole card, proof of citizenship, proof of residency, proof of income (wage stubs, unemployment, social security benefits), and proof of property (vehicle registration)
