ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: Identifies, evaluates, and limits exposure to environmental sources that may adversely affect community health by:

• Responding to complaints, and issues commercial permits regarding open burning. 
• Permitting and monitoring the operation of public swimming pools, spas, public bathing beaches, campgrounds, and mobile home parks to ensure that they are in accordance with applicable regulations. 
• Investigating complaints about septic failures, household trash, and wash water discharge. 
• Maintaining a safe food supply through permits, inspections, and educational activities at food service sites, such as  restaurants, schools, grocery stores, nursing homes, hospitals, caterers, and concession stands. 
• Ensuring that private, potable water supplies and private sewage disposal systems are designed, function, and installed in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Testing for and reporting all possible rabies exposures.
