Peer-Fit Health is the umbrella name for a support service provided in Adult Services.  It includes:
 
Peer Support Specialists – persons with “lived experience” with mental health issues and/or substance abuse issues, who then obtain certification as peer support specialists and are hired by SCS to provide recovery support to other adult clients.  Clients can get assigned to a peer support specialist (as an additional layer of service), who can talk with them one-on-one for support and assistance.  In these cases, you might see “Peer Support” and/or “Peer-Fit” as an episode in Avatar.  The peer support specialist is never the person’s main therapist though.  They are simply an additional resource available to clients.  Peer support specialists also lead group sessions on different topics (such as meditation, 12 steps, yoga, stress management, etc.) offered at the Adult sites.
 
Peer-Fit (gym) – includes a gym (which clients and SCS staff can use for free), and a health and wellness program (health assessments, fitness training and exercise classes) led by a physical trainer/nutrition expert who can help clients meet health/fitness goals.
