Description
Provides an intensive outpatient medication-assisted treatment program for individuals addicted to opiates. Program currently only serves those with Kentucky Medicaid.

• Support medications, including buprenorphine (Suboxone) and Vivitrol, can be prescribed on an outpatient basis to assist with stabilization (clients must participate in intensive outpatient program at the same time).
• Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) program (typically lasts 6-8 weeks).
• Aftercare (such as weekly groups) follows completion of IOP. 
• Throughout, clients are followed by a case manager, peer support specialist, a medical team, and a clinical team.

Not all clients utilize support medications and use of medication is not required. Support medications are typically utilized for 12-18 months, but this length of time can vary based upon the individual client's recovery needs. ROMAT is not a maintenance program (implying lifelong use of support medications) and support medications are discontinued once the client has achieved recovery.
