Description

Nevada Insight Respite Center (IRC) offers respite program for individuals with mental health challenges going through difficult times in order to prevent crisis intervention or hospitalization. Insight Respite Center is a peer centered program where guests are treated as equals on their road to recovery. They realize that fostering of self-esteem and self-respect is crucial to the health and well being of an individual. Peer Supporters are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for guests to connect with and experience mutual learning. We offer hope, compassion and understanding in a stigma-free environment.

To make a referral, please call Nevada County Behavioral Health at 530-265-1437 and ask to speak with the intake person of the day. If an individual is accepted, they will be contacted by a peer from Insight Respite.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: 18 years or older, experiencing a first episode or re-emergence of severe mental illness, medically stable, able to care for personal hygiene and prepare own meals, can sign and understand documents, willing to follow house rules, has a place to return to, and has been approved by Nevada County Behavioral Health. Application Process: Obtain a referral sheet from Nevada County Behavioral Health front desk.
