Offers a centralized place to report identity theft.

Once entered into the registry, individuals will receive notification of their status that they can present if questioned in the future. Individuals may also request that notification be provided to prospective employers and housing providers.

Eligibility: Victims of criminal identity theft.
Languages: Translation services are available for multiple languages upon request. American Sign Language Interpreter available on request, English
Application Process: The application process has six steps:
Step 1 - Get a court order/verification
Step 2 - Get live scan fingerprints
Step 3 - Complete the registration application form
Step 4 - Complete the checklist for the application
Step 5 - Mail documents
Step 6 - Receive registration notification

After the completion of all six steps, the DOJ will then enter individuals' names into the Identity Theft Registry.
