Description

SacRT operates approximately 82 bus routes (fixed-route, dial-a-ride, and micro-transit) and 43 miles of light rail serving 53 light rail stations and ADA paratransit services all within a 440-square mile service area throughout Sacramento County, which includes service in the cities of Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, and Rancho Cordova, with connections to Yolo County. Sacramento buses and light rail trains operate 365 days a year.

SacRT's entire bus and light rail system is accessible to the disabled community. All SacRT buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts. All light rail stations have ramps or lifts for mobility device accessibility except 12th and I Station where only northbound trains to Watt/I-80 are accessible.

Bicycle lockers are available for rent at many of SacRT's light rail stations. Park & Ride lots available. Senior, Disabled, and Student discount fares are available and require forms of identification (ID) or age verification.

Languages: Customer Service in Over 80 Languages. Sign Language assistance is available through the Accessible Services department upon request, Hmong, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese, English, Chinese
Application Process: ZipPass Mobile App and Connect Card are available for purchasing tickets and passes from a smartphone. Fare vending machines at all 52 light rail stations, or in person at the Customer Service Center. Customer Service Center accepts cash, debit, and credit cards. SacRT also accepts employer-provided transit checks.

Senior (62+), Disabled, or Student* (k - 12): $1.25 single, $3.50 daily Monthly Passes also available. Call for prices.

Documents Required: Seniors (age 62 and over): Proof of identification is required upon boarding and can include a SacRT Senior Card, a Senior photo ID card issued by another transit agency, a driver's license, a State of California ID card, a passport or identification issued by any governmental entity containing a photo of the cardholder and showing verification of age.

Persons with disabilities and Medicare cardholders: Proof of disability is required upon boarding and can include an RT Disabled photo ID card, a Disabled photo ID card issued by another transit agency, or a Medicare card (if presenting a Medicare card as proof of disability, a photo identification from a governmental entity with a name that matches the name on the Medicare card is required).


Super Senior (age 75+): Proof of age verification is required to purchase a Super Senior monthly sticker. Super Senior monthly sticker is only available for purchase at RT's Customer Service and Sales Center located at 1225 R Street;

Students (grades K-12): Must be pursuing a high school diploma; eligible to purchase SacRT monthly student stickers with a school-issued photo ID or a SacRT Student photo ID card. SacRT Student stickers must be affixed to a school-issued photo ID card or a SacRT Student photo ID card. Students are eligible to purchase single fares and daily passes with their school ID.
