Description

Intake Stabilization Unit (also known as the Crisis Stabilization Unit) is a 24-hour outpatient program that receives individuals with behavioral health conditions through referrals from community partners, Emergency Departments, Sacramento Superior Court, and Law Enforcement. Serves children and adults with mental health conditions, substance use issues, or both.

Individuals receive a multidisciplinary assessment to determine if they can be stabilized and discharged or admitted to an inpatient facility for further treatment.

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Children and adults who are assessed to be a danger to themselves/others or are gravely disabled (unable to make a plan for food, clothing, and shelter) due to experiencing a psychiatric crisis.
Languages: Most languages by arrangement, American Sign Language by arrangement, English
Application Process: Individuals are primarily assessed and referred from hospital emergency rooms. Individuals seeking services can call the Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic.
Payment methods: Accepts Medi-Cal
Program Fees: No fees. Insurance is not required. Will bill Medi-Cal or other insurance if applicable.
