Investigates the personal decision-making, possessions, and assets of adult Sonoma County residents. May legally file to act as the conservator of the resident/estate if the investigation shows the resident is:

  • Deceased with no will or trust, or has no person available to act to administer the estate. (Public Administrator)
  • Gravely disabled because of a mental illness that the resident is unable to obtain, or cooperate with providing for their basic needs (Public Conservator)
  • Unable to act in their own best interest or resist undue influence of other persons. (Public Guardian)
