Description
Complaint Center provides an independent mechanism for mediating disputes between buyers and sellers. Division receives and acts upon telephone calls and written consumer complaints from the public.

REBATES Frauds Division responds to questions and complaints about rebates offered by retailers. Division offers information on Connecticut law governing rebates, how to apply for a rebate, and what to do if you do not receive the rebate.*When advertising a rebate, the law specifies that retailers who advertise the net price (after-rebate price) of an item should credit the consumer the amount of the rebate at the time of purchase. If the store does not credit consumers the rebated amount when they purchase the item, the consumers may send a written complaint to the Department of Consumer Protection. Retailers are allowed to advertise the full price for items and state that a mail-in rebate is available to the consumer.
