Description
IPV-FAR is a home-based, family-oriented response to intimate partner violence (IPV) that offers safe, respectful, culturally relevant and individually responsive assistance to families who are referred by the CT Department of Children and Families (DCF). IPV-FAIR establishes a working relationship with the family and DCF to identify, develop and achieve realistic and meaningful goals to improve outcomes for the family. IPV-FAIR serves intact families or estranged couples who are experiencing intimate partner violence in an attempt to promote healthier relationships and effective communication among family members, while assuring the safety and well-being of children living in the home. The IPV-FAIR team offers homes-based services including counseling, case management, parenting education and advocacy in addition to specialized services for offenders (Fathers For Change) when appropriate.
