STATE HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (SHIP): Provides assistance in understanding health insurance benefits, bills and client's rights, including Medicare D and Pharmacy Assistance Programs. Assists low-income beneficiaries and participates in community presentations. Offers over the phone guidance on a wide variety of health insurance issues, such as:
o Medicare Part A, B, C, and D
o Medicare supplements (Medigap Plans)
o Coverage changes and Eligibility Criteria
o Preventative Services
o Out of Pocket expenses, Medicare Billing Issues, Appeals, Denials, and Grievances
o Financial assistance options for low income Medicare beneficiaries and Rights of Medicare Beneficiaries

NOTE: Medicare Open Enrollment is Oct 15- Dec 7.


Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP): Empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their family, and caregivers with being aware and reporting healthcare fraud, errors, abuse of Medicare and Medicaid Programs. Call to talk to a Senior Medicare Patrol.
