Description
Recovery Coaches assist people who are admitted to participating hospital emergency departments with opioid overdose and other alcohol or drug-related medical emergencies and connect them to substance use disorder treatment programs and community based recovery support services.  The Recovery Coaches are trained professionals who support patients, family members and hospital personnel, and provide assistance to help people begin recovery or to stabilize recovery when needed.  The program is an initiative of the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) in partnership with the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR).
