Description
EMERGENCY SHELTERS: Provides intake to shelter services year round, including when Code Blue is declared. All hospital discharges and community referrals for shelter must go through the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services (MOHS). Covers the following shelters: Weinberg Housing and Resource Center for single adults, Emergency Women’s Shelter for single women, Emergency Men's Shelter, and Sarah’s Hope Shelter at Mount Street for Families. Contact the MOHS Shelter Referral Hotline at 443-984-9540 coordinate for bed referrals Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-4:30PM.
WINTER DECLARATION DAYS: Contact the Coordinated Entry line to request shelter referrals between 8:30AM-9PM on declaration days ONLY and 4-9PM on weekends and Holidays. All after hours shelter referral requests should be directed to the winter shelter providers listed below up until 12 midnight. When winter shelter status is active the City will open warming centers, add emergency overnight shelters, send out street outreach teams and provide transportation for people who need help.
CODE RED EXTREME HEAT: The Baltimore City Health Commissioner issues a Code Red Extreme Heat Alert when the forecasted heat index is greater than or equal to 105ºF, which is in in effect from May 15, 2026, to September 15, 2026. Offers cooling centers that provide air conditioning, charging stations, water and some locations provide lunch. COOLING CENTERS DO NOT PROVIDE OVERNIGHT SHELTER, GUESTS WILL NEED TO CALL THE SHELTER LINE FOR SHELTER PLACEMENT.
