The City of Grass Valley Building Department attends to code compliance issues and complaints. Residents with complaints can submit a Code Compliance Investigation Request Form. Issues include:

• Trash, Junk, Debris
• Overgrown and/or piles of Vegetation
• Abandoned / Inoperative Vehicle(s)
• Environmental (sewage, chemicals, etc.)
• Building Code Violation(s) (work without permit, etc.)
• Substandard Housing Conditions
• Deteriorated, Dangerous, Unsafe Building(s)
• Improper or unapproved use or occupancy
• Encroachment in public right of way
• Hazardous Obstruction
• Zoning Violation
• Fencing
• Polluted Water
