Description

Provides training for students and young adults to equip them with the skills needed to effectively use public transportation for educational and employment purposes. Aims to help youth navigate Sacramento's bus, light rail, and Smart Ride systems.

Training includes:

  • A learning experience tailored to one's personal transportation needs and the opportunity to get questions answered.

  • How to travel using all modes of public transportation, including transit apps. 

  • Understanding of the Regional Transit systems and other transit districts.

  • Connect Card registration and utilization.

  • Trip planning, time management, safety awareness skills, etc.

  • Individual sessions, group sessions, and workshops. Training is in-person, but virtual training may be arranged.

  • Preloaded Connect Cards for qualifying participants who complete the training.
