Program Delivery
Eligibility: To book a ride on SacRT Flex, customers must be one of the following:
- Senior (age 62 or older)
- SacRT Disabled ID cardholder
- SacRT GO certified
- Low-Income (Recipients of CalFresh/SNAP, CalWorks/TANF, Medi-Cal, or SacRT's DHA Pass)

Youths aged 13-17 in low-income households can ride alone if registered by an adult parent or guardian under one of the low-income categories. Young children must be secured in a car seat provided by the accompanying parent or guardian.

Service animals are welcome on SacRT Flex at no additional charge. No pets allowed.

Application Process: Eligible riders must pre-apply online to access the service. Once approved, individuals can download the app to request a trip. If an approved rider is unable to use the app, they can book a ride on SacRT Flex by calling the reservation line. Reservations must be made in advance. Trips can be booked up to two days in advance and no later than 7 pm the day before.
Payment methods:
Program Fees: A flat fare of $2.50 per trip for each customer. Payments can be made with exact cash/coins or credit/debit through the app. No discounts or passes are accepted. Children under 18 can ride free with an eligible parent. Caregivers can ride free with an eligible passenger.
Documents Required: Proof of low-income status: Receipts for CalFresh benefits, CalWorks benefits, Medi-Cal, or General Assistance.
Proof of disability status (if applicable): Must be already certified for SacRT GO, have a SacRT Disabled ID, or have a DMV disability placard.
Normal Wait Time: An application may take up to 2 weeks to be reviewed and approved.
Service Area: SacRT Flex serves nine zones in the Sacramento area (the same nine zones as SmaRT Ride). Vehicles cannot travel outside the service boundaries. Click on each zone name on the website for a map.
