Naloxone is available at pharmacies with trained pharmacists who can prescribe and dispense the medication. Naloxone (also knowns as Narcan) can be a lifesaving medication that reverses the effects of an overdose from opioids (heroin, oxycontin, oxycodone, fentanyl, etc). Many private health insurers cover the cost of naloxone, but individuals can contact their insurance plan to verify.
