The CalFresh Program, formerly known as Food Stamps and federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), can add to your food budget to put healthy and nutritious food on the table. CalFresh issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy most foods in many markets, farmers' markets, and food stores.

California has been experiencing an increase in occurrences of Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) theft. For online access to EBT card balance information use the free ebtEDGE mobile and web-based application to manage your CalFresh and/or CalWORKS benefits, check your balances, and review transaction history. Available to download in the Apple App Storen (iOS) and Google Play Store (android). No mobile device, you can manage your account online at www.ebt.ca.gov.

Address Change Reporting Procedure:

• As of April 1, 2023, when a CalFresh customer reports an address change to the county, the county will encourage them to submit updated shelter costs.
  • If updated shelter costs are reported, the county will act upon the new information.
  • If costs are not reported, no changes will be made and the county will follow up at the next SAR or recertification, whichever comes first.
