Description
Offers an adult literacy program for adults to help improve their reading, writing, and math skills as well as volunteer opportunities for those who wish to help.

Students and tutors should be willing to commit to this program for six months, being able to take two days out of each week for one and a half hour sessions.

Merced Branch: Monday - Thursday from 10:00am - 6:00pm
Friday and Saturday from 10:00am - 5:00pm

Program Delivery
Eligibility: Tutors and students must be at least 18 years old. Tutors must have at least a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education. Students are encouraged to know some basic speaking English skills beforehand in order to communicate with their tutor.
Application Process: Call or visit the Merced Branch Library to receive an application. Applications can be sent by e-mail or mail.
For students: Walk-in to Merced, Livingston, Los Banos, or Atwater branch to receive an application. Screening process will be conducted.

Documents Required: Photo ID is required for tutors and students.
