Shelters are opening later as they're able (depending on staff/food/resources to stay open later.)  If a caller has a shelter bed they can check with their shelter to see if the hours have been extended.

Stepping Stone Emergency Housing: Adults ages 18 and older who are in need of shelter can come without getting a referral or being on the waiting list. Hennepin County Government Center: Open 6 am - 10 pm Monday - Friday; 9:30 am - 8 pm Saturday; Noon - 6 pm Sunday

Hope Avenue Emergency Shelter: Hope Avenue Ministry of Elim Church, open 1/24/2019 - 2/2/2019, 685 13th Avenue NE, Minneapolis 55413

The Salvation Army - All Metro Worship and Service Centers
**Lyft has partnered with warming shelters and United Way 2-1-1 to provide $25 toward rides to/from designated warming shelters. The destination or arrival point of a ride must be one of the addresses below. Individuals can use the code MSPJAYDEN19 on their Lyft app to engage the discount.

  • NOTE:  Other Salvation Army offices not listed are considered social services locations, not worship and service centers, and are not designated warming centers.

    • Description:  Open 24 hours; chapel open as a warming center from 8 am - 8 pm
    • NOTE:  Daytime use of the warming center is not the same as admittance to the overnight shelter; single adults seeking shelter should still contact Adult Shelter Connect
Metro Buses and Light Rail can be used during the cold weather as long as people are not disruptive.
