3/12/2021 Update:
Unemployment Assistance From the American Rescue Plan March 2021: 
Provides a $300 weekly boost to payments and extending two key pandemic unemployment benefits programs through September 6, 2021.
              Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program provides benefits to freelancers, gig workers, independent contractors and certain people affected by the pandemic
              Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program increases the duration of payments for those in the traditional state unemployment system.

Appeal Process
The Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law provides an opportunity for a fair and impartial hearing to any individual who disagrees with a determination issued. The Appeal Hearing Guide explains how the apeal phone hearing process works.

Appeals must be filed electronically, mailed or faxed within the timeframe specified on the determination to be appealed. Instructions for filing an appeal are printed in all determinations. An appeal submitted online or by fax is not considered filed until the department actually receives it. 

Minnesota High School Youth Unemployment Information
Students who lost a job because of COVID-19 after January 27, 2020 can apply for unemployment benefits. Visit the Youthprise Minnesota Youth Unemployment Information website to learn when to apply, how to apply, what happens next, and FAQs.

Minnesota Job Partners Dislocated Worker Program
Provides assistance to workers who are have been permanently laid off through no fault of their own by providing career counseling, job training, resume preparation, placement services and financial support at no cost. Call (612)676-3710 or visit website for eligibility requirements.
