Description
|
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides a time limited cash assistance program for families with dependent children when available resources do not fully address the family needs. The program is designed to help families to become independent of welfare support through work, personal responsibility and community involvement. TCA has a 5-year lifetime limit for benefits. Single adult households are required to participate in work activities for a minimum of 20 hours per week, in exchange for temporarily cash assistance, child care, training, and emergency assistance.
WORK ACTIVITIES: May include job search, on-the-job training and/or community service. Exemption from work activities: parent of children under 1 year and customers who are severely disabled adults or caring for an ill or disabled child (SSI application required).
