Serves family caregivers caring for frail adults or adults with cognitive/neurological impairments. Provides information, support, assistance, and community connections. All services are available to clients only (one must sign up first). Also depends on availability of funding.
Services include: - Family caregiver support groups
- Family & professional training
- Short-term counseling for caregivers
- Resource referrals
- Home modifications and assistive devices which assist caregiver in helping client. Examples include widening doorways and installing grab bars.
- Legal consultation
- Respite care for caregivers (on a very temporary/emergency basis)
- Specialized information about:
- Caregiving
- Diagnosis and treatment
- Legal options
- Long-term care system (levels of care)
- Patient management
- Research.
- Specialized information about conditions such as:
- ALS
- Alzheimer's disease
- Brain tumors
- Huntington's disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson's disease
- Stroke
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI).
