Description

COMMUNITY EDUCATION: Aims to reduce substance use and crime rate. Increases public awareness of safety issues, accident prevention, and the role of the police officer.

COMMUNITY SECURITY PROGRAMS: Provides crime prevention services, home/business security surveys, and neighborhood watch.
POLICE SERVICE: Prevents and detects crime, apprehends alleged criminals, enforces laws, and protects lives and property.

VICTIMS SERVICE UNIT: Provides crisis intervention and referral services to victims and witnesses of crime.

FINGERPRINTING: Available on first-come, first-served basis.

PROJECT LIFESAVER: Provides a free search-and-rescue program for "at-risk" individuals who are prone to wandering/eloping due to autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other cognitive conditions. Enrolled individuals wear a small transmitter on the wrist or ankle that emits a frequency signal. If the individual goes missing, the caregiver notifies the Sheriff's Office, and an emergency team responds to the wanderer's area. Program Fees Copy of reports: $5, Ink fingerprinting: $20, Electronic fingerprinting: $51.25.
Documents Required Photo ID with current address.
Volunteer Requirements Adults 18 and older.
Volunteer Duties Assist with general office duties, including filing and data entry. Volunteers over age 21 can assist with parades, traffic control, and roving patrols.
