Description
|
OVERVIEW: Provides general information on health issues and offers community outreach.
SERVICES:
1) HEALTHLINE: Free referral service, providing access to free health insurance for children, adolescents and pregnant women. General information about other Health Department programs is also available.
2) COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING: Provides a wide range of educational materials, speakers, staffing for blood pressure screening, child health information, counseling/testing for STD's and HIV/AIDS, addictions prevention, and other forms of health promotion at community events/meetings and health fairs.
3) PUBLIC INFORMATION: Responds to requests from community and media for statistical information, published reports, flyers, and educational materials on health status and programs. Provides information/updates on media alerts.
4) RYAN WHITE PROGRAMS: Administers and monitors grants awarded to HIV/AIDS service providers who receive funds to assist eligible individuals in the jurisdiction.
