Description OVERVIEW: Offers emergency services and crisis management to families in domestic violence situations.

SERVICES:
1) CRISIS CENTER: Victims & offenders of mate-related abuse can talk to trained counselors by calling the 24-hour crisis line or by walking in to the 24-hour Crisis Center. Emergency housing services can be accessed through the crisis counselors.

2) EMERGENCY HOUSING:  Shelter is available to abused female victims and their children. All shelter residents receive counseling and support services.

3) EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: Provided on issues of domestic violence to professional groups, and community organizations.

4) COUNSELING :
o Counseling, weekly support groups for victims, offenders & children of abuse.

o Counseling, education groups and weekly support groups for abuse-offenders. Self-referrals accepted. Participants attend this group 90 minutes a week for 26 weeks.

o On-going counseling, psychiatric evaluations and consultation on an individual basis for those without insurance or sufficient income.

o Crisis case-management services to link clients with community resources that assist with financial, medical, social or vocational needs.

o Support and accompaniment during legal procedures and collaboration with police, State's Attorney's Office and other county agencies.

5) FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER: A one-stop for survivors of domestic violence. Call the main number to be directed to the most appropriate service.

Volunteer Requirements 18 and older.
Volunteer Duties To serve as court companions for victims.
