OVERVIEW: Treats children and adolescents, who have psychological and behavioral problems such as depression, hyperactivity, school adjustment difficulties, family problems, anxiety, and substance abuse problems.
SERVICES:
1) GENERAL CHILD PSYCHIATRY OUTPATIENT CLINIC: Offers outpatient services at the Bayview Medical Center for youth, ages 6-22. Offers include diagnostic evaluations, psychological assessments, medication evaluation and follow up, group therapy, and casework services. Youth and their care may attend individual, family, or group treatment sessions as part of treatment. To make a referral call 410-550-0104.
2) ADOLESCENT INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM: Offers an after school program for adolescents ages 12 to 17, offering psychiatric and psychosocial evaluation, psychological and educational testing, occupational therapy, nursing support, daily group therapy and behavior modification, and dialectical behavioral therapy-influenced skills training. Adolescents must participate in individual therapy, group therapy and dialectical and cognitive behavior therapy influenced skills training. Also, socialization, recreation, and daily rewards program to complete the treatment program. Family members are involved as well with weekly family therapy meetings and weekly parent group. 3) PRESCHOOL CLINICAL PROGRAM: Offers an in depth psychosocial and psychiatric evaluation. Once completed the child and family may attend individual, family, or group treatment sessions. An individual treatment plan is made with the family to help identify problem areas and methods to resolve the problems. Serves children from birth to age 5, Mon-Fri 8:30AM-5PM. 4) YOUTH PSYCHIATRIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM: Provides an after-school rehabilitation program for youth, ages 5 to 17, offered in coordination with outpatient services. A complete assessment is provided to determine a course of group treatment for the development of educational, social and independent living skills. Services are up to four days a week for three hours a day. Must have medical assistance to be eligible. Limited transportation to and from the program is available. Call 410-550-8815.
5) MOBILE TREATMENT SERVICES: Assists families with youth, ages 3 to 24, with emotional and behavioral problems who require intensive treatment in order to remain in the community, but have been unable to access traditional mental health services. 6) MOOD DISORDERS IN ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG ADULTS: Provides youth 13-22, who are currently experiencing mood or anxiety symptoms with an experience mental health team to give them specialized treatment programs, evaluation, and ongoing outpatient treatment. Accepts some private insurance, medical assistance, and Medicare. Call 410-550-0104.
7) SCHOOL BASED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES: Participates in various southeast Baltimore public schools with therapists in the school to work with school and county staff to provide individual, family, and group counseling and crisis intervention for children and families. Referrals for testing and other treatment can be made. Additionally a child psychiatrist goes to each school for scheduled medication meetings. The team of mental health workers also work with the schools to address specific mental health needs. Medical Assistance is needed to be eligible. Call 410-550-1035.
8) CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS IN ADOLESCENCE PROGRAM: Works with adolescents who are diagnosed with a mental disorder and struggle with substance abuse.
9) EARLY PSYCHOSIS INTERVENTION CLINIC: Assist adolescence 16 and older who show new signs of the onset of early signs of psychotic symptoms. Call 410-550-0104.
10) LATINO FAMILY CLINIC: Provides youth ages 4 to 21, diagnostic evaluations, individual and family therapy, and medication management with Spanish speaking physicians and clinicians. Call 410-550-0104
