Description
|
ADOPTION: Provides services which enable children to become free for adoption and to be placed with adoptive parent(s). Services can be provided at the direct request of the child's birth parents or initiated by foster care staff for children who have been abandoned or who have been in foster care with no chance of returning to their families. Also assists persons in locating their natural parents.
Children are placed with adoptive parents who have previously applied to adopt and have been approved to do so through a home study process. Most of the children freed for adoption are 1) school aged 2) member of minority group 3) members of siblings groups that remain together and/or have physical, emotional, or mentally handicapping conditions.

Eligibility

Must be 21 or older, are single, married or divorced, have children of their own or childless, employed outside of the home, homeowners or apartment dwellers.
