Description
|
EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Assists families with children under the age of 21, with low-income who are experiencing a financial crisis. Must present proof of an emergency. Emergency grants are provided for disasters, eviction prevention, lack of heating fuel, utility bill turn-off notices (not including water) or burial assistance. Grant may be used only once in a 24-month period and it is able to assist those in subsidized/public housing. Note: Must present proof that the emergency was not caused by a family member quitting a job. Eligibility
|
Families must have one or more children under 21 living with them, proof of an emergency that was not caused by a family member quitting a job.

Identification
Proof of Address: Apartment or house lease,electric, gas, water, or phone bill, rent book, rent receipt or mortgage statement
Proof of Income for Past 2 Months such as past 2 months pay stubs that show your income, or most recent benefit letter for government checks such as SSI, SSDI, VA, Social Security or any others
Proof of Emergency such as an eviction notice, utility cut-off notice or other proof
Proof of Other Cash or Non Cash resources.
Bring most recent savings and checking account statements
Social Security Number for all household members
Proof of Household Expenses. Bring as many of the following as you can:
most recent BG&E gas or electric bill
most recent fuel oil or propane bill that shows the company’s name, address, and telephone number
receipt or written statement of child care costs
real estate tax bill
recent doctor or hospital bills.
