Description
|
FOSTER CARE: Places children in either foster homes or group homes when it is clearly determined that they can no longer remain in their own homes. Placements are usually court-ordered. Returning home is the primary focus of DSS. Provides foster home licensing that requires licenses for those families providing 24-hour care for non-related children under the supervision of DSS. Once approved, foster parents receive board payments, a Medical Assistance card, and a clothing allowance for the support of the foster child.
