OVERVIEW: Provides short-term, emergency cash assistance to families with children and to eligible, disabled individuals. - EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN (EAFC): Provides emergency cash assistance to families who face an eviction or foreclosure. Must have at least one related child under age 21 living in the household. Must provide proof that the household can maintain on-going monthly housing and utilities expenses. Available to a household once in a 24-month period.
- TEMPORARY CASH ASSISTANCE (TCA): Provides limited cash assistance when available resources do not fully address the family's needs. Program participants must participate in work activities (20-30 hrs/week), cooperate with child support, comply with substance abuse provisions, and meet other eligibility requirements. Sanctions apply for not complying with program requirements.
- BURIAL ASSISTANCE: Provides financial assistance to help with the cost of burial for specific individuals when there is no resource to meet the cost. The maximum payment is $650. The total funeral expense cannot exceed $2500. Call for details.
NOTE: Funding for LIHWAP (Low Income Household Water Assistance Program) ended on 3/31/24.
