Description
|
OVERVIEW: Provides services for the prevention and treatment of breast and cervical cancer. Program offers literature and information at health fairs and workshops in Calvert County.
SERVICES:
1) SCREENING: Offers referrals to local doctors' offices to receive free pap, pelvic, breast exams and mammograms. Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) will set up the appointment and complete all necessary paperwork. - Eligibility: Women ages 40-64, who are uninsured or underinsured and meet income guidelines, and are 250% below poverty level . Women ages 65 and older may qualify if they are receiving Medicare Part A only and have no other health insurance.
2) DIAGNOSTIC AND TREATMENT: Provides referrals to local doctors' offices or treatment facilities for those women who are suspected of having cervical or breast cancer. - Eligibility: Women ages 40-64, with suspected cervical or breast cancer who are uninsured or underinsured and meet income guidelines.
3) SUPPORT GROUPS: Conducts three breast cancer support groups.
