Description
|
OVERVIEW: Provides outreach to county residents, with special emphasis on under represented and vulnerable communities, regarding the range of services and programs provided by the Department of Health and Human Services.
SERVICES:
1) COMMUNITY OUTREACH: Speakers provided upon request to present/discuss services provided by the Department for church groups, schools, and ethnic communities.
2) COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY: Promotes coordination between agencies and use of resources, develops leadership among low-income residents and develops strategies to address causes of poverty. Tax Assistance services.
3) DIVERSITY INITIATIVES AND REGIONALIZATION: Brings information on services to minority groups and isolated communities in different regions of the county.
