Description

CAREGIVER SUPPORT PROGRAM: Provides education, training, financial assistance, legal guidance for estate planning and care needs, mental health support, and resource coordination for caregivers of Veterans enrolled in VA health care. The online VA Caregiver Resource Library offers a wide range of caregiver focused resources. The Caregiver Support Line and Local Caregiver Support Teams connect caregivers with trained professionals for emotional support, program navigation, enrollment assistance, and referrals to local and national resources. Call or visit the website for more information. Each VA Medical Center has a Caregiver Support Coordinator to help match caregivers to appropriate services. The Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) provides a monthly stipend, health insurance (via CHAMPVA), training, mental health services, and respite care for family caregivers of eligible veterans with serious injuries incurred in the line of duty.
