COURTS: Assists with cases including landlord-tenant disputes; replevin claims, which seek the recovery of goods or property; traffic cases; motor vehicle violations, ranging from parking tickets to driving under the influence of alcohol, civil lawsuits for up to $30,000 (see separate listing); criminal misdemeanors and certain felonies; filing of active warrants; bail and preliminary hearings for any crime charged in Maryland; and Baltimore City Mental Health Court located at John R. Hargrove Sr. Courthouse. The District Court does not conduct jury trials. Adult Recovery Court is at the Borgerding District Court Building.
For peace and protective orders individuals must go to Eastside District Court Building from 8:30-4:30PM, and when the Eastside District Court Building is closed individuals must go to District Court Commissioner at 500 N. Calvert Street using the front door located on the corner of Calvert and Centre Streets.
