Eligibility
|
Eligible veterans are defined by public law. Questions concerning eligibility, call 558-4724 or 1-888-287-7982. Serves North Alabama. Veterans are referred from other VA facilities throughout Alabama.

Application Process
|
Call for Appointment, 1-800-872-0328, Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. In Birmingham, call 933-4503. In an emergency, present yourself to the Emergency Room at any time. If applying for the first time or it has been more than three years since last visit, bring military discharge or DD-214, which indicates an honorable discharged veteran. Discharge should note service number and service dates. If service-connected veteran, or if receiving any type of VA pension, bring award letter received from the VA Regional Office. This will expedite the application process. Once all necessary information is gathered and medical record is established, applicant will be examined by a medical doctor. Doctor will determine if admission is necessary or if any further consultation is required.
